A former dairy worker celebrated her 100th birthday with a party and a letter from the Queen.
Agnes Nurse, formerly of Wickham Bishops, was joined by family and both residents and staff at Brewster House, in Oak Road, Heybridge, as she marked the landmark.
The mother-of-one has been at the home since 2002, but deputy manager Lee Miller said she would still be out working if she had her own way and her health hadn’t been hampered by a stroke.
“She says herself that if she was able to she would still be out and about and working and I well believe her,” he said.
“She’s remarkable.”
