MPs representing the Maldon district have criticised their colleague for ditching Parliament for the jungle.
Tory MP Nadine Dorries, 55, who represents Mid Bedfordshire, has caused controversy after appearing on the ITV reality show I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.
She has been suspended from the Tory Party for not informing the Chief Whip she was off to Australia to take part in the show, and is also facing de-selection by her constituency Conservative Association
Maldon MP John Whittingdale: “It leaves her constituents without proper repsentation."
MP Priti Patel, who represents areas on the outskirts of the Maldon district, said: “I’m afraid I’m not particularly enamoured by what she has done."
