An appeal has been lodged after plans for 146 homes were refused.
CML Microsystems Plc and Countryside Properties is fighting Maldon District
Council’s refusal of plans for Oval Park in Hatfield Road, Langford.
There will now be a public inquiry.
Richard Perry, a parish councillor for Heybridge, Langford and Ulting, said: “This
development of town houses in an area that is clearly not a town is unsustainable
and unsuitable for this green space, and this appeals procedure makes a nonsense
of the Localism Act."
The Oval Park plans include an internal access road, the creation of public open
space, demolition of the former open water storage tanks and CML’s headquarter
building.
