The residents of a once notorious Maldon street are divided on whether the problems are confined to history.

St Peter’s Avenue, which stretches from Spital Road, near St Peter’s Hospital, to Granger Avenue, off Fambridge Road, was once blighted by low-level drug dealing and associated antisocial behaviour, but is it still an issue?

Gillian Cooper, 75, who has lived in the street since shortly after her Heybridge-born mother Gladys Blowers died in December 1990, said drug dealing remained and that rowing families were also blighting day-to-day life.
