Latchingdon/Southminster: Man arrested in connection with rape
A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
Police were been contacted shortly before 7am on Sunday by a woman who claimed she had been sexually assaulted by a motorist in the Latchingdon and Southminster area earlier that morning.
Last night, a 48-year-old man from the Southminster area was arrested by detectives from Essex Police’s Sexual Offences Investigation Team on suspicion of rape.
He is continuing to be questioned at a police station in mid-Essex this morning.
