South Woodham Ferrers: Songwriting special hopes he can be top of the cops South Woodham Ferrers: Songwriting special hopes he can be top of the cops

A special constable is hoping to be Christmas number one to raise money for charities helping police officers killed on duty.

Andrew Small, 25, of South Woodham Ferrers, has composed a song following a day in the life of a police officer, in the hope he can raise money for police charities.

The former William de Ferrers pupil, who has a degree in music composition, decided to start his fundraising efforts after several police officers will killed on duty this year, including Essex police officer Ian Dibell, who was shot dead in Clacton in July.

He said: “The tipping point was the Greater Manchester police officers who were shot and obviously the Essex police officer who was shot.

“As a voluntary police officer myself, I just want to raise some money and show support to those that have died.”
