Burnham: Blind man's plea after several near misses with cars
A blind man is calling for action after he was nearly run over several times on a Burnham street corner.
David Eves, 42, of Alamein Road, claims the lack of tactile paving slabs on the corner between Station Road and Crouch Road has meant he and his guide dog has almost been hit by cars six times.
The pavement beside the New Welcome Sailor pub merges into the street, which means Mr Eves cannot tell where the main road into Burnham is.
He said: “At the moment I don’t know where the road begins and the pavement ends as it just drops off.
“It’s a hazard and a major worry for me.
“I’ve had several near misses. A few times I have had my shoulder brushed and my right knee knocked by a car.”
