  • "Good news for an already attractive spot in the Essex countryside; just a shame that the actual Hall (the stately home) was demolished in the 50s."

Marks Hall in Coggeshall has won an award for improving access for disabled visitors.
A new bridge leading to the arboretum was built and linked to a new 1,400-metre surfaced path to help wheelchair users and parents with buggies to reach the heart of the estate.
The Essex Environment Trust, which gave £20,000 towards the £100,000 project, awarded Marks Hall a certificate of merit for the work.
The trust gave out awards to the best projects it has funded that have been completed in the last year.
