THE £1million Essex burglar is back on the streets.
Bradley Wernham, 21, of Redmayne Drive, Chelmsford, was jailed for five years after admitting to 662 burglaries.
He has served just 18 months for crimes which cost his victims more than £1million.
It works out as less than a day served for each of the burglaries and that doesn’t include the rest, which he is now boasting about getting away with.
Wernham, originally from Harlow, was re-housed in Chelmsford in an attempt to give the notorious criminal a new start.
The result was a 500 per cent crime spike in Chelmsford.
He was eventually caught smashing glass at a house in Avenue Road, Witham.
Witham MP Priti Patel, after hearing about his early release, said: “Residents will be deeply alarmed to see this prolific burglar back out on our streets.
“The fact that he has been let out of prison this soon is insulting to his victims and he has yet again escaped proper punishment for the appalling crimes committed.”
Essex Police promised to keep an eye on him after police, probation and community safety groups were all consulted about the early release.
