THE secret is out! The Minories has been announced as the next spot for Colchester’s Spring Vintage Fair.

Secret Vintage World will hold the event on Saturday between 10.30am and 4pm.

The High Street art gallery will be transformed into two floors of retro clothing with a musical soundtrack and a cocktail garden.

Workshops are also on offer for shoppers, with beauticians on hand to put visitors’ hair up in curls and professional dancers teaching Burlesque moves.

The event will raise cash for homeless charity, Emmaus.

Musicians JS and the Lockerbilies, Kitty and the Wolftones, Alison Jennings and Monaco Confidential will also be providing a set-list of classic throwback tracks throughout the day.

Gemma Aylesbury, Visual Merchandiser at Emmaus Colchester, said: “To be chosen as charity of the year by the Secret Vintage World is a huge thing for us.

"We are looking forward to meeting shoppers, vintage lovers and anyone interested in second-hand items and to let them know about the other aspects of Emmaus Colchester, our community, and the companions (formerly homeless people).

"It really does help us to raise awareness and show that we are much more than a charity shop.

"On behalf of everyone at Emmaus Colchester, I would like to say thank you to Secret Vintage World and everyone else involved for the generous support.”

A Secret Vintage World spokesperson said: “We have supported various charities over the years and we are thrilled to be able to support Emmaus this year a charity which does valuable work in our local community.

"Their enthusiasm and dedication is inspiring”.
