FIRE crews freed a man who was trapped in his car after a crash.
Two vehicles crashed in Colchester Road, Peldon, just before 7pm on Wednesday.
Fire crews from West Mersea and Colchester attended the scene.
They managed to release the man who was trapped within an hour.
An ambulance crew, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to the scene.
They treated two people - one was a man in his 70s.
Both patients were taken to Colchester General Hospital suffering with neck injuries.
