A PENSIONER has been released from his car after smashing it into a lamppost and wall.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the road traffic accident where a driver collided with some traffic lights and the Royal Albion pub on the Parade, Walton.
The driver is believed to be a man in his 70's.
Fire crews from Clacton and Walton worked with paramedics to help release one male from the vehicle who was released at about 3.30pm.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We recieved an emergency 999 call to High Street, Walton-On-The-Naze today at 2.50pm after reports of an RTC.
"An ambulance and ambulance car were sent. On arrival a male believed to be in his 70’s was treated.
"He was conveyed to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment."
