CHELMSFORD City Council is finalising its Draft Local Plan which contains a long-term vision for new development in the area.
The plan is set to provide new homes, jobs and infrastructure up to 2036.
The council had planned to approve the Draft Local Plan for its third and final round of public consultation at the Development Policy Committee on November 30.
But has been unable to complete all the necessary assessments required by Government ahead of the committee meeting and it is essential that this information is available for members of the committee when assessing the final version of the Local Plan, so it has been deferred to the scheduled Development Policy Committee on January 18.
This change in committee meetings means that public consultation on the Draft Local Plan and accompanying documents can still start in January in accordance with the council’s timetable.
You can follow progress on the new Local Plan on the council’s website at www.chelmsford.gov. uk/new-local-plan.
People who are not already signed up for alerts can register on the council’s specially designed consultation portal at www.chelmsford.gov.uk/planningpolicyconsult
