A SOLDIER who filmed himself performing an indecent act on a path near a school and filmed a woman washing in a hotel shower has been found guilty of sex offences.

Staff Sergeant Lewis Jeanes recorded iPhone footage of himself in an alley 300 metres away from Thomas, Lord Audley School and Valentinus Crescent in Colchester.

The film played during his trial at Chelmsford Crown Court showed him performing a sex act on himself and a young woman walking towards him.

As she approaches Jeanes, 34, said hello to the girl, who replied before he asked her to say it again and apologised to her in case he scared her. When she did, Jeanes said “brilliant”.

After less than three hours of deliberation - the jury found him guilty of three counts of exposure and one count of voyeurism.

The jury decided Jeanes, of Coggeshall Road, Marks Tey, did not have permission to film a woman showering in a cubicle and then her brushing her teeth while he carried out an indecent act nearby.

He had claimed pair had spent the night together after he had been in London with friends for a rugby match and agreed he could film her as part of a roleplay where she would act as if they were strangers.

Jeanes had also filmed himself taking part in an indecent act on a pathway in Hook, Hampshire, and in the movie a woman is seen walking into the shot.

He had denied all four counts of the incidents which took place in 2014.

Hours before the filming in Hook, Jeanes had admitted sending pictures of his private parts to woman on social network Snapchat at Reading Magistrates’ Court.

Judge David Turner QC ordered a pre-sentence report be prepared into Jeanes before he is sentenced next month.

He said he would be bailed "so not to turn a drama into a crisis", but warned him he may face a custodial prison sentence.
