A MAN was hit by a car and punched in the face during a robbery in Clacton.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was walking along Skelmersdale Road at around 11.45am on Tuesday when he heard a car rev its engine behind him.
A spokesman for Essex Police added: "As he turned around a blue Mercedes 4x4 drove at him, hitting his right thigh and knocking him to the ground.
"The driver of the car then got out and demanded money from the victim, punched him in the face, and stole a two-figure sum of cash.
"He then left in the vehicle."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det Sgt Dan Jeffries at Clacton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
