• A MAN has been handed a restraining order and fined more than £200 after admitting damaging someone’s fence.

Alexander Nolan, 29, of Hickory Avenue, Colchester, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on March 15 where he admitted damaging a fence panel worth £50 in Spruce Avenue, Colchester on December 12 last year.

Nolan received a restraining order banning him from Spruce Avenue and was ordered to pay £230 plus a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

  • A MAN must complete 40 hours of unpaid work after breaching terms of a restraining order.

Paul Pilgrim, 44, of Hazelton Road, Colchester, admitted attending an address in Colchester between December 18 and February 28 which he had been forbidden from doing in a restraining order issued on December 8.

At Chelmsford Magistrate’s Court on March 15, Pilgrim was ordered to complete 40 hours of supervised unpaid work and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85.

  • A MAN has been fined after failing to comply with requirements of a community order.

Daniel Southgate, of Bluebell Avenue, Colchester, was fined £60 at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on March 15 after failing to comply with a community order issued on October 19 in 2015.

He also paid court costs of £50.

  • A WOMAN has been fined more than £100 after being caught speeding in Witham.

Emma Collins, of Fiddlers Folly, Colchester, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrate’s Court on March 16 where she admitted driving at 66 miles an hour in a 40-mile-an-hour limit zone on Trunk Road near Witham on September 14 last year.

Collins was fined £67 and was ordered to pay surcharges of £90 and £30 to cover court and victim services.

  • A MAN from Colchester has been fined after being caught using a mobile phone whilst driving.

Stephen Gowers, 36, of Ivy Lodge Road, Colchester, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 16 where he admitted using a mobile phone whilst driving in Ipswich Road, Colchester on September 19.

He was fined £72 and ordered to pay surcharges and costs totalling £120.

  • A COLCHESTER man has been fined more than £200 after admitted to using a mobile phone while driving.

Jason Moore, 35, of Smallwood Road, Colchester, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrate’s Court on March 16 where he admitted using a mobile phone while driving on March 3 last year at Marks Tey in Colchester.

Moore was fined £220 and was ordered to pay £90 in court costs.

  • A MAN has been fined after admitting the theft of food items from a superstore.

Timothy Wallis, 63, of Norman Way, Colchester appeared a Chelmsford Magistrate’s Court on March 16 where he admitted stealing £344 worth of food items from Sainsbury’s in Colchester.

Wallis was fined £120.

  • A MAN has been jailed for 22 weeks after admitting a string of offences.

John Luckin, 32, of The View, Colchester, appeared a Colchester Magistrate’s Court on March 16 where he admitted a string of offences, including stealing £332.43 worth of alcohol on December 27, a speaker worth £99 from an Ipswich store on October 30, and stealing food and drink worth £711.31 from a Waitrose store in Saxmundham, Suffolk.

Luckin was sentenced to 22 weeks.
