A MAN has been rushed to hospital after an accidental house fire, leaving the home with smoke and fire damage in Chelmsford.
Crews were forced to cut away a wall to tackle the fire in White Hart Lane, Chelmsford, on Thursday (February 24), following a 999 call at about 11am.
On arrival firefighters reported the blaze had started in the roof and spread to the wall cavity.
Crews from Chelmsford and Great Baddow extinguished it by noon.
The man, who suffered from smoke inhalation, was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
