A DRIVER was pursued by police for seven miles on the A12, a court heard.
Aaron Morrison, 29, came to the attention of the police close to the Northern Approach junction near Colchester at 6.15am on September 6 this year.
Denise Holland, prosecuting at Colchester Magistrates’ Court said: “They saw him and signalled to him with their blue lights.
“He reached speeds of up to 90 and 100mph.
“He came to a stop in London Road, Copford where a foot chase ensued and he was eventually found riding a pushbike.”
Morrison, of Plains Field, Braintree, did not enter a plea to charges of dangerous driving and theft of the bicycle.
He was bailed to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on October 24 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
