TALENTED young dancers have won places on stage to woo audiences at the Civic Theatre’s Christmas pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk.

From step kicks to backflips, six performers auditioned alongside 23 other talented individuals on Sunday (June 19), to bag places in the December show.

Of the talented individuals who competed, Abby Murphy, Emily Poulton, Georgia Poulton, Mika Korakianitis, Ellie Gilmour and Alice Tunningley were named victorious by judge Aaron Jenkins - cast member of the West End production Wicked.

To get there, the troupe of dancers underwent a gruelling 10 minute warm-up before being taught a fast-paced and energetic dance routine, which they performed back to Mr Jenkins, as well as producer Daryl Back.

The successful candidates will now appear alongside the rest of the Juvenile cast, and other cast members who will be selected later in the year.

The family pantomime will run at the Civic Theatre from Friday December 2 until Monday January 2 2017.

Tickets are £22, £19 for concessions and £72 for families.
