A double-lung transplant survivor is continuing her vow to live life to the full by taking part in a world record bid for the largest burlesque dance.

Justine Lamond, 42, from Broomfield, suffers from the rare lung disease lymphangioleiomyomatosis and underwent a double-lung transplant after her lungs collapsed 15 times.

Now, nine years later, Justine – who goes by the stage name L’amoure le Monde -– is fighting fit and on Saturday will join 300 other burlesque dancers in London for the world record attempt.

She said: “It is a fantastic idea and I enjoy supporting the burlesque community.

“Secondly, I do relish a challenge! I previously made history as the first double-lung transplantee to cross the Atlantic Ocean in 2012 as part of the clipper 11-12 world yacht race.

“I’m truly happy to be part of this world record attempt.”

Jem Ayres, known as Mumma Burlesque, runs Chelmsford’s Burlesque Jems dance class and will also take part.

Burlesque dancer Priscilla Silcock, who is known as Sapphira, organised the record attempt, which will take place in front of Sir Richard Branson. She said: “The World’s Largest Burlesque Dance record attempt is in tribute to Sir Richard, who has achieved many world records and is my business idol.

“I’m hoping Sir Richard will mentor me as I launch my debut album Mistress. He is a beacon for entrepreneurs.”
