Our Casualty Reduction Unit is holding a family open day at their base in Tylers Ride, South Woodham Ferrers between 10am and 2pm this Saturday.

Visitors will be able to see the motorbikes, cars and lorry officers use on patrol to help reduce crashes on the county's roads, take a turn in a Lotus simulator, meet police dog Boo and find out about Essex Police Museum.

Our partners, Essex Air Ambulance and Essex County Council, will be on hand to talk to visitors and offer demonstrations about road safety.

Adam Pipe, Casualty Reduction Manager, said: "We’re delighted to be able to invite the public to our base to meet the team and find out how we work on a daily basis to police the roads of Essex, improve road safety and detect and deter travelling criminals.

"Come and see what we’re all about!”
