A-LEVEL students have been getting a taste of what it is like to be involved with staging a professional art exhibition.

Colne Community School, Brightlingsea, is working with Colchester’s Minories art gallery, to stage its end-of-year exhibition there for the third year running.

The Minories is run and managed by Colchester School of Art, which is part of Colchester Institute’s Faculty of Creative Arts.

Lee Pugh, faculty manager, said: “We have a keen interest in developing our relationships with secondary schools.

“Many pupils from the Colne School will go on to become students with us at foundation and degree level, so it’s good to meet them now and give them an opportunity to see how our galleries operate.”

The work on display will be a collection of pieces from students studying on the Art, Art History and Photography A-level courses at the Colne.
