A pedestrian who was injured following a collision with a car in Chelmsford has sadly died.
The man, aged in his 50s from Chelmsford, died at the Royal London Hospital in the early hours of this morning, Friday, March 6.
He had been injured, suffering multiple injuries, including serious chest and head injuries, after a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa on Springfield Road at its junction with Pump Lane.
He was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in a critical condition by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) on Thursday morning.
The incident happened just after 8am on March 5.
An ambulance crew, paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer, and the East Anglian Air Ambulance from Cambridge attended the scene of the accident.
Police are continuing to investigate and ask any witnesses to contact them at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.
