A NURSERY has taken prompt action to address concerns after being rated inadequate by inspectors.
Butterfly Barns Day Nursery, in Old Heath Road, Colchester, was issued with a notice demanding improvements last month.
Inspectors found it was not handling complaints in the way the Government recommends and also criticised nursery leadership.
After carrying out a follow-up visit to monitor progress, Ofsted has written to the nursery owner, Puddleducks Child Care Ltd.
Ofsted director Nick Hudson said: “Your manager has implemented an action plan to drive improvement and is working with yourself and the local authority to accomplish this.
“During the visit children were being cared for in a calm and friendly environment.
“Staff were attentive and focussed on the children.
“Having considered all the evidence, the inspector is of the opinion that the setting has taken prompt and effective action to address the points for improvement.”
The nursery has 78 children on its roll and employs 13 members of staff.
