MOTORISTS in north Colchester look set to face further misery for up to six weeks with road works due to start in Ipswich Road on Monday.
Signs displayed at the weekend warned drivers delays will be likely from 9am on the section of road between the Ardleigh Crown interchange and junction with Severalls Lane.
The work is taking place as part of a new housing development along Ipswich Road at the former Betts factory site.
A new access point to the 200-home estate by is being created by contractor Knights.
Motorists in north Colchester have already complained of delays caused by a lengthy diversion while part of the Northern Approach Road is closed.
The diversion take drivers from Boxted and Great Horkesley via Mill Road and is expected to be in place for an another two to five weeks, Essex County Council has said.
