A THUG punched an elderly man in the face before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault of the 70-year-old man in Chelmsford.
The man, from Chelmsford, was waiting for a bus in Parkway at 4.55pm on Wednesday, September 17, when he challenged a man cycling through a crowd of people.
The man on the bike punched the victim in the face and rode off. The man, 70, was knocked to the ground and was helped by other members of the public.
He was treated in hospital for the facial injuries as well as a fracture to his leg.
The suspect is described as white, of heavy build, 30-40-years-old. He wore a white t-shirt.
