Detectives are appealing for witnesses after an incident in Head Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The three men were walking past two groups of people involved in an argument at about 1am on their way to Crouch Street.

An 18-year-old man from Colchester has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and being drunk and disorderly.

He has been bailed until October while investigations continue.
