A MAN was arrested and several people taken to hospital after a brawl broke out in the bar of a Great Warley hotel.
Police and paramedics were called to the upmarket De Rougemont Manor hotel in Great Warley Street at about 1.40am on Sunday, August 24, following reports of a disturbance in the bar area.
Fighting broke out between guests who were attending two different functions in the £120-a-night hotel.
The brawl left "several" people injured and taken to Basildon Hospital with facial and leg injuries.
A 29-year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and was later bailed until Tuesday, October 21 pending further enquiries.
