A CONCERNED driver has hit out after waiting months for dangerous graffiti to be cleaned off a road sign which he says is a "fatal accident waiting to happen".
Malcolm Cole of Stour View Avenue, Mistley said he reported that black spray paint had been plastered across a hazard sign on a sharp corner of Jenkin's Hill in the village back in January.
But despite his calls he claims nothing has been done and fears the delays could cause an accident.
Mr Cole, who uses the road regularly, added that the sign is now completely invisible in the dark leaving drivers with no warning of the sharp bend they are approaching.
"We are looking at an accident waiting to happen, we would be looking at a death."
An Essex Highways spokesman said: "This sign was risk assessed as low priority and was scheduled into the next existing programme of work."
