Police are continuing to appeal for information following a road collision in which a woman died.

Emergency services were called to the B1393 Epping Road, between the junction with Crown Hill and the Wake Arms roundabout, Epping, at about 3.20am on Sunday, October 14.

The head-on collision involved a black Ford Galaxy taxi and a grey VW Polo, which caught fire. The car driver, a woman from Epping who has not yet been formally identified, sadly died at the scene.

The taxi driver, a 48-year-old man from east London, and his passengers, a man and a woman from south London, all received minor injuries and were released from hospital after treatment. The taxi driver was arrested and bailed until November 19 pending further enquiries.

Any witnesses who have not yet contacted police or anyone who saw the vehicles before the crash should contact the Serious Collision Investigation unit on 101 or send an email to collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk
