The manager of an entertainment firm is threatening to sue Maldon District Council after his wrestling show had to be axed at the last minute over licensing issues.

Sanjay Bagga, 25, who runs London-based LDN Wrestling, was due to put on a show at Maldon Town Hall at the end of August.

But he claimed that about half-an-hour before the show was about to start, police arrived to stop it from going ahead.

Mr Bagga, of Southall, Middlesex, said: "There were customers queuing outside, waiting for the show to start.

"It was embarrassing more than anything.

"Our reputation has been tarnished."
