More than £45,000 was raised from parking fines collected in the Maldon district last year.


According to the South Essex Parking Partnership annual report for 2011/2012, which was circulated at a meeting of Maldon District Council’s community services committee, £46,320 was raked in from penalty charge notices.


Some 1,577 notices were issued, with 907 paid, 68 cancelled following representation, 250 written off for other reasons and two cancelled upon appeal.


Others remain outstanding.


A further £17,640 was raised in the district through residents’ parking permits.
 

The South Essex Parking Partnership also covers Chelmsford, Brentwood, Basildon, Rochford and Castle Point.
