Maldon district: Three vehicles stolen in one night
Three vehicles were stolen from across the district in the same night.
Police believe the thefts in Mayland and Steeple could all be linked.
A Ford Transit van worth £10,000 was stolen in Wembley Avenue in Mayland overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday last week. On the same night thieves stole a Land Rover Defender worth £5,000 from Stansgate Road in Steeple.
A Ford Zetec car worth £14,000 was also stolen from The Promenade in Mayland.
Sgt Phil Morley of Maldon Police said: “It’s odd to have three vehicles stolen in one night.”
He suggested that 4x4 vehicles were a particular target among thieves and owners of these vehicles should be extra cautious.
