Dengie: Potholed roads being ignored, claims victim

Dengie: Potholed roads being ignored Dengie: Potholed roads being ignored

The Dengie’s roads are being unfairly neglected, according to an angry pot hole victim.

Graham Balmford, 62, of Waterside Road, Bradwell, had to pay out more than £270 after a pot hole dented an alloy and damaged one of the tyres of his car while he was driving on Tillingham Road, Asheldham, in May.

Four months on and Mr Balmford says the pot hole is yet to be repaired and is growing rapidly.

He said: “They don’t seem to be doing anything down here in the Dengie. They just ignore this part of the world.”

A council spokesman said: “Essex Highways would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to local residents and the community.

“Although we have not had any pot holes reported on this specific route, Tillingham Road is part of our pothole repair programme, funded by the additional £11 million investment, and due to be complete by the end of October 2012."
