A field fire that raged on for more than two hours is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Tiptree were called to tackle the huge fire in Copford, Colchester.

Three fields and hedgerows at Mascotts Farm, School Road, caught alight at 3.30pm, according to a Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman.

It was put out by 5.40pm, and is thought to have been started deliberately.

A total of ten fire engines from Colchester, Tiptree, Witham, Pinzgauer, Manningtree, Halstead, Wickford and Basildon were called to the incident.

I know the Tory led coalition have, and are continuing to relaxed the planning laws but how did this new town of Pinzgauer get built without any mention, anywhere?
Could this be Essex's very own Brigadoon....this might account for it not appearing on Google maps.
