Violent crime more than trebled in Burnham in July.

The most up-to-date figures on the police.uk website, which gives a detailed monthly breakdown of the crimes committed in individual areas, showed the number of violent crimes in the town rose from just two in June to seven in July.

Overall crime and antisocial behaviour climbed just slightly, from 39 incidents to 41.

Vehicle crime, burglaries and thefts other than shoplifting were the other crimes to rise.
