Latchingdon: Mystery death not so mysterious after all Latchingdon: Mystery death not so mysterious after all

A coroner has cleared up the mystery surrounding a woman’s previously unexplained death.

Rosemary Hymas’ death was initially treated by police as unexplained, but an inquest has since heard how she had died of natural causes.

The 75-year-old was found unresponsive at her home in Lawlinge Road, Latchingdon, on the morning of January 4.

An inquest in Chelmsford heard that, despite Mrs Hymas having what were described as “numerous medical conditions”, concerns were raised about how she came to her death.

Essex coroner's officer Paul Gammon said: “Police found no immediate suspicious circumstances but a family member expressed concern that Mrs Hymas may have been administered too many tablets and that some medication appeared to be missing.”

He added: “Police duly investigated but concluded that there was no third party involved in her death, which was declared as non-suspicious.”
