Burnham: Burnham Week ends with a bang

Hundreds of people took to Burnham Quay on Saturday night to witness the final fling of a week of sailing.

A firework display on Wallasea Island delighted crowds and brought the curtain down on a week of fine racing on the River Crouch .

Pauline Wells, company secretary of the Royal Burnham Yacht Club, said: “The week was absolutely wonderful, we had 165 entries and the weather was fantastic.

“There has been a lovely atmosphere all week, the weather was just perfect. There was lots of partying and dancing.

“Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.”
