Maldon district: RSPCA under pressure after surge in number of dumped pets Maldon district: RSPCA under pressure after surge in number of dumped pets

The RSPCA is warning people of the penalties for animal cruelty after a surge in the number of dumped pets.

The charity is currently looking after a tortoiseshell cat which was dumped in a box in Roundbush Road, Mundon.

The cat, which was found earlier this month, had no sign of illness or injury. It had not been microchipped and was not wearing a collar.

Within just four days of discovering the cat, the RSPCA also rescued a rabbit and two guinea pigs dumped in a McDonalds food box in an alley in Waltham Cross, as well as kittens left in a box next to bins in Boreham.
