Maldon: Fire crews rescue boy stuck in mud
Fire fighters had to rescue a child stuck in mud this afternoon.
Crews were called to Maldon’s Promenade shortly after 3pm by the coastguard.
A 12-year-old boy was stranded 100 metres out from the seawall.
Fire fighters and a water rescue team used two rescue paths to bring the boy to safety by 4.20pm.
