Essex Police consider drone future

POLICE say they are considering whether to keep or sell an unmanned surveillance drone.
Essex Police purchased the drone, which could have been used to patrol the Tendring coastline, in March 2008.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “At the moment the force is evaluating its future potential and whether it will be retained or sold,” she said.
Drones can be used to monitor smuggling and illegal immigration in coastal areas.
