Mayland: Abbey's operation in doubt over lack of funds
A life-changing operation that could make a schoolgirl’s dream to dance come true is now in doubt.
Abbey Evans, five, of Nipsells Chase, Mayland, who was born with cerebral palsy, is due to have the operation at Bristol Frenchay Hospital in just over a month.
But despite tireless fundraising by family and friends, they are still a long way off from raising the £35,000 needed to cover the cost of the operation and therapy.
The Maylandsea Primary School pupil often has to crawl and walk on her knees as the pain and stiffness in her legs can make it impossible to run.
