Maldon district: Churches attacked by vandals

Churches have been damaged in a spate of vandalism to hit the district.

Vandals entered a shed belonging to St. Mary’s Church in Burnham between Friday and Sunday last week.

They didn’t steal anything but caused £100 worth of damage.

St. Thomas’ Church in Bradwell was also targeted on Saturday between 10am and 3pm, when vandals tried to force open the front door.

Nothing was stolen but £50 worth of damage was caused.

Police believe the two incidents may be linked.

Anyone with information about those responsible should contact police on 101.
