Burnham: Cefas building housing application refused by councillors
The long-running mystery surrounding the future of Burnham’s largest office block is still set to continue.
A planning application has been put in to turn the former Government fisheries laboratory, Cefas, in Remembrance Avenue, Burnham, into 14 houses.
But councillors at last week’s Burnham town council meeting voted to object the plans.
Councillors were concerned about access to the development, saying that the road would need to be widened which would affect trees in a conservation area.
Cllr Mrs Una Norman said: “I am not objecting against the need for houses in Burnham, I recognise we need more houses but it’s just the scale of the development."
