Burnham: How shall we spend our £25k?

Burnham residents have the chance to decide on how to spend £25,000 of their own money in the town - on a specialist road sweeping machine or a new music and performing arts academy.

Burnham Town Council requested an extra £25,0000 from tax payers last year to pay for special projects in the town but have yet to decide how to spend it.

Town councillors have brought up the idea of a specialist sweeping machine that could clean up dog poo efficiently and hygienically after residents complained about the town’s dirty streets.

The machine would cost in the region of £15,000 but will incur long-term running costs.

How about using the money (which we've paid for out of our rates) to restore the Recycling Centre opening times back to Seven Days a week?

Getting back a proper recycling centre is a terrific use for the money. It's green and most importantly it will help stop the growing amount of fly tipping all over the town.
