Maldon: Families' fury at Splash Park queue 'shambles'
A relaxing day in the sun turned into a nightmare for some parents who took their kids to Maldon’s Promenade Park last week.
People had to queue for over an hour in the scorching heat just so their children could spend half an hour in the splash park.
Some parents turned up at 11am so their children could cool off and play in the water but could not get a session until after 4pm.
Confusion erupted over having to queue twice - once to get a wristband for a session and again to pay for it.
Mum Laurie Collins, 39, from Billericay, said: “The splash park is fab but they need to put a stop on how many people they let in because the queue was just absolutely ridiculous."
