Maldon’s Plume School managed to break a Guinness World Record on Friday by having the world’s largest amount of people exercising to a computer programme.

The event saw schoolchildren, teachers and members of the community come together to perform a 30-minute low impact exercise routine to a screen.

Activities involved running up a rollercoaster, punching rockets and atoms and doing yoga in the middle of Egypt.

The previous record stood at 783 people but the event managed to break the record by more than double, with 1610 people taking part.
