Maldon: Olympic torch passes through Maldon to excited crowds

The Olympic torch passed through the streets of Maldon this morning to hundreds of excited people lining the streets and cheering it on.
Maldon High Street was awash with colour as people turned up in patriotic dress with flags and fake torches.
Umbrellas were out in force as the rain poured down but it failed to dampen the electric atmosphere.
People began turning up in Maldon at 6am in preparation to see the Olympic torch pass through just at around 9:15am.
