A ex-soldier hopes his fresh start in life will give hope to others who have suffered the frightening effects of post traumatic stress disorder.

Former Royal Artillery gunner Stewart Bayford of Tollesbury is set to open a shop in his village thanks to financial help from the RBL.

His bright future is now a far cry from his life just a few of years ago when he felt he had been left on the scrap heap.

Mr Bayford left the army in 1993 after having served in the Gulf War and having carried out several tours of Northern Ireland.
