Heybridge: Bid to buy fishery

A group has put in a bid to buy a fishery in Heybridge.

Charity Legacy Angling is aiming to buy the entire Cemex portfolio, which is on the market for about £7.4million.

The portfolio includes the fishery in Scraley Road, which covers 19.2 acres.

Cemex owns 20 fisheries across 140 acres in the East and South East of England.

Georgina Bradley, who is part of Legacy Angling, confirmed a bid has been lodged with estate agent Fenn Wright.

“We hope to find out by July 16 whether we are successful or not,” she said.
